We are a full service interior shutter and blind shop. 

Our premium, locally made hardwood shutters are built specifically for your windows. 

How we do it:

 We come measure your windows and give you a cost estimate. Then upon your approval and a 50% deposit, we will get the shutters built and arrange with you a time to come install. Most installs take a few hours, some only an hour or so. It somewhat depends upon how many windows you have. 

 Our most popular shutter has a 3 1/2” louver, the rod that connects all the louvers is on the back (window) side of the panel. That allows for a clean up to date feel. We have the standard plantation type shutter as well that has the traditional push rod going up the center of the panel. 

 Each panel is hinged to allow for easy access to clean the windows. Many of our clients have had their shutters for years, and we have a lot of folks that call us again when they move to  a new location or remodel and resize the windows. 

 Our shutters generally have no maintenance issues, however a small energetic puppy can chew the louvers and a child throwing a ball indoors can likewise damage a louver. But often a louver can be replaced without replacing the entire panel. Our shutters do have hardware built in that allows for adjustments should that be needed. Usually a one time adjustment at the time of installation is all that’s needed. 

 Most of our shutters are painted and we have a selection of standard colors. We do offer a custom paint match that can match your existing color, this service adds a little more time (1-2 weeks) because we send a sample to get matched, and then upon receipt of the color we will compare it and then start the painting process. 

 We also offer stained wood shutters to complement your wooden trim. We can do arched windows and transoms. For areas that are prone to have a lot of moisture, we offer a polycore option. This is an especially good option in a pool house, where there is a constant high humidity concern. 

 We have blinds, roller shades, honeycomb shades, blackout shades. We even offer some that are motorized! 

    We work with several designers here in the Waco area and would love to meet yours. We will come show you different panel styles, moulding profiles and color samples. Our pricing includes all the measuring, construction, painting and installation so there are no surprises. We can even get you some temporary blinds if that’s helpful while we are getting yours made. Craftsmen Shutter Shop was started by John Deines over 25 years ago. John’s attention to detail set the company up with a reputation for quality and top notch service. Esther has been working with her dad in the shop and the field for 25 years and was his right hand helper. 

 Mark Borman joined the company in 2023. Mark has been a friend of the Deines family for nearly 30 years. Mark’s 30 year career in custom furniture building honed his skills in both measuring and working with hardwoods. When John suddenly passed away in December of 2022, Mark stepped in to help keep the family business running. Mark and Esther now work together for measuring and all the various aspects all the way through the installation and even service if maintenance is ever needed.
